“We think of photography as pictures. And it is. But I think of photography as ideas.” One of my favorite quotes from photographer Joel Meyerowitz. I had an idea. I live a few miles down the road and I’d driven past Buckeye more times than I can remember. Even so, I’d never thought to photograph its fanciful historic gate until one day, I did. It was a bright beautiful day and I asked myself the question I always ask myself “OK, now what are you going to do?” After a few minutes my intuition and my camera discovered Zen. When that happens, I step out of the way. These are my favorites from that visit. The earliest known burial at Buckeye was December 12, 1815.
